Eunice Kamau is a dedicated professional teacher and a loving mother of two. Recently, she joined Flamingo Chama PTY, inspired by its mission to build a thriving, inclusive network where women rise together, lead boldly, and create sustainable businesses. Kawira is a consummate community advocate and has spent most of her life advocating for communities across the globe, both in her career as an International Development Expert and in the communities, she has lived in. Kawira has served as the President of the Kenyans in Queensland association, Vice President of the African Professionals of Australia (QLD) and sits on multiple other community committees. For these roles, she has received multiple accolades within the multicultural community in Queensland, including recently being awarded a Nelson Mandela Legacy award for Leadership (2025) from the Queensland African Community Council.
In Flamingo Chama, Kawira has found a sisterhood of fellow social entrepreneurs, another one of her passions. Serving as the Treasurer, she ensures that members have access to timely financial records and information necessary to grow the business. The shared Flamingo Chama vision for business growth, advocating within our community, and serving as role models for other upcoming African women social entrepreneurs aligns well with her personal goals.

My name is Terry Mbatia. I am a proud mother of two and a dedicated Assistant Nurse with a strong passion for elderly care and mental health advocacy. Millicent Awino Oketch is one of the co-founders of Flamingo Chama Pty Ltd. Currently an Environmental Health Officer, Millie has worked as a dedicated Assistant Nursing and food services assistant in the Age care and disability sectors, where I contributed to offering exceptional service/personal care to clients while also ensuring compliance with Food Acts 2006 and Safety standards care provision, and formerly an assistant Lecturer in a Kenyan public university.
Millicent brings a high level of integrity, dependability, a sharp eye for detail and a passion for delivering quality work that makes an impact.
Millie’s life is a tapestry woven with rich threads of relationships, adventures, and introspection. Family forms the cornerstone of her existence, a wife and a proud mother of two daughters and a son. Millie draws a lot of her strength from her early years growing up in a close-knit community life and surrounded by family .
Jaber, as we affectionately call her, brings her strength, commitment, eye for detail and passion to up chama’s game. “Whether we’re event planning, family celebrations, weddings, anniversaries, hiking, core services or specialties, or exploring new ideas with clients, we’re all about making it easy, enjoyable, and effective”. Jadlyne is obsessed with leveling the playing field to help clients achieve their goals and attain meaningful and satisfactory results.
She is a nurse by profession with over 20 years experience in different clinical settings.
Besides being a nurse,she does what she knows best by immersing herself in event planning and cordination.These include weddings, birthday parties, holiday trips both local and international trips.
Jadlyne is a mum to two beautiful teenagers and doing the best to nurture strong and healthy family bond with them
Outside work and parenting, my interest include a variety of activities to keep me engaged and expand my creativity.I enjoy photography, gardening, sacculent collection, travelling,hiking , bike riding and trying out different Cusines.
She is currently taking Italian lesskons in preparation for her next trip.

Daphine is one of the newest members of Flamingo Chama, drawn to the group by their values to empower each other and grow together in sisterhood realising the vision and mission of flamingo.
Daphine is a dedicated Registered Nurse and Nurse educator with over 15 years of experience . She has passion in mentoring and educating the future generation of nurses
Outside of work, Daphine enjoys travelling, hiking, walking, long drives exploring nature and the beach during summer. She is the founder of hiking and adventure group to help women maintain socialising while improving their fitness and health.
She is a mum of one handsome boy whom she is nurturing to achieve his dreams

Wanjiku Gallagher, affectionately known as Ciiku, is a seasoned nursing professional with over 20 years of experience across various roles, including Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Facilitator, and Clinical Nurse. Born and raised in Nairobi, she now calls Brisbane home, where she continues to make an impact in the healthcare sector. Ciiku is especially passionate about end-of-life care, bringing compassion, dignity, and empathy to one of the most delicate phases of life.
Beyond her professional career, Ciiku is a committed community builder and advocate for women and education. She is the co-founder of the Girl Child Education Fund, an initiative that supports the education of underprivileged girls by helping to pay school fees. She is also a founding member of Flamingo Chama, a collective that fosters sisterhood and financial empowerment, encouraging women to come together, invest wisely, and grow together.
In her free time, Ciiku finds joy in hiking, exploring the outdoors, and expressing her culinary creativity by cooking mandazi, samosa, and chapati. She is also deeply creative in tobes, using her talents to express herself and connect with her cultural roots.
Ciiku is a vibrant blend of caregiver, leader, creator, and community advocate, continually inspiring others with her dedication, warmth, and vision for a better, more inclusive future.
I’m a proud mother of two amazing children.
My family is my priority. Raising the children has taught me how to be resilient, organised, and creative. Professionally, I’ve been a Registered Nurse for over 20yrs with experience in oncology, haematology, community nursing, mental health and the operating theatre. I am passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives.
I highly value open communication, laughter, finding joy in everyday life and simply being a positive influence in people who cross my path.
As a nurse too, I enjoy flexible work schedules, allowing for a better work-life balance. Flamingo chama is a perfect space to build on all my transferrable skills.
